Don't be afraid to mix and match different styles:

"Unleash Your Inner Designer: Master the Art of Mix & Match with These 6 Essential Strategies"

Mixing and matching interior styles can create a unique and personalized space, but it can be tricky to get it right. Here are some tips to help you successfully mix and match interior styles:

Identify your favorite styles: Start by identifying the interior styles that you love the most. This will give you a foundation to build from and help you create a cohesive look. I always suggest selecting one main style and then a complimentary style. The complimentary style will only feature in small amounts to ensure you don't create confusion.

Consider the color palette: Choose a color palette that works well with both styles. This will help to tie the different elements together and create a harmonious look. An example can be to mix and match coastal and Boho styles and colours to compliment this look will be natural tones like wheat and stone, white and hues of blue. Alternatively you can mix a sleek modern design with industrial elements and the perfect colour combination will be black, white and petrol blue.

Play with texture: Mix and match different textures to add interest and depth to your space. For example, you could combine a sleek, modern sofa with a vintage rug for a unique look.

Mix up the furniture: You don't have to stick to one particular style of furniture. Mix and match different pieces to create a unique look. For example, you could pair a rustic console table with modern style art and accessories.

Use accessories to tie everything together: Accessories like cushions, curtains, light fittings and artwork can help to tie everything together. Choose pieces that incorporate elements from both styles to create a cohesive look.

Here you can see how they have incorporated mid century Wishbone dining chairs with floor to ceiling curtains, a gorgeous modern pendant light and oversized art pieces.

Don't overdo it: It's important to strike a balance between the different styles. Don't go overboard with too many different elements, as this can make the space feel cluttered and chaotic. Choose a few key pieces to mix and match, and keep the rest of the space relatively neutral. In this image below you will see that they have a mix of Scandinavian, Modern and Farmhouse into one space.

By following these tips, you can successfully mix and match interior styles to create a space that reflects your personal style and tastes.
